What do you think of when you hear the word self love? Do you feel deserving of self love or do you feel it is a selfish word? I’m here to tell you that it is not selfish at all and before you can give to others you must give to yourself. It is the foundation on which we build a happy life. Without self-love, we have nowhere to put the love and abundance that comes to us. This is where it all begins… Feeling confident starts with loving yourself, the good and the bad. It’s about being ok with the imperfect you. Waking up and making a conscious decision to be positive and full of gratitude on a daily basis. When we honor ourselves and our body with a healthy diet and exercise we in turn build confidence by saying to the world “I love myself enough to care.” Self care is something busy moms tend to put on the back burner. We’re busy taking care of everybody else until we’re confronted with burn-out! I see this happen all too often, especially with young moms. So how do we go about putting ourselves first? Make a commitment to yourself….no matter how small, you will love the feeling and in no time find yourself making a habit of scheduled “me time” 🙂 A few examples could look like a weekly bubble bath with candles, music, glass of wine (no interruptions). A thirty minute walk alone in nature so you may have time for reflection. And lastly, do things you love that provide value. When we provide value to others our hearts are filled with love and joy. When we allow love and joy to enter our hearts, we radiate and shine in this world. As I once heard a divine feminine sister say “Your Radiance Alone Is Making An Impact On This World.” The more value we give to others the more self love and confidence we gain in ourselves.
“Every choice we make will either enhance our spirit or drain our spirit”
